Your Numeral dashboard is organized around a left-hand navigation menu, with core sections for Home, Jurisdictions, Filings, and Connections available on every account. Depending on your setup, you may also see Sales (for manual-upload accounts only), Payments, Mail, Reports, Excise management, and Exemptions. Settings lives separately in the footer at the bottom of the menu.
This article walks through what each section offers once you've completed Setup. Still working through your checklist? Start with Setting Up Your Numeral Dashboard for a step-by-step guide. For a broader look at how your account progresses from onboarding to autopilot, see Your Roadmap From Onboarding to Autopilot.
Home
Home gives you a quick overview of your account and anything that still needs your attention. Your business name appears in the top-left corner. If you manage multiple Numeral profiles, you can switch between them here.
The Tasks card lists outstanding items, such as connecting a store, completing your company details, adding a location, or setting up your virtual mailbox. Each task includes a countdown to its due date and changes to Overdue if the deadline passes. Select a task to go directly to where you can complete it.
Below Tasks, you'll find recent activity and a snapshot of your jurisdictions and connections.
šµ If your login is associated with multiple Numeral accounts, double-check the business name in the top-left corner before contacting support. Your active account determines which team your conversation is routed to and which account details they can access and share with you, so make sure you're logged in under the correct profile.
š” Still seeing tasks after completing Setup? Some tasks, such as Finish your company details, reflect ongoing checks of your company profile and may remain after Setup is marked complete. This doesn't mean your Setup progress wasn't saved. See Setting Up Your Numeral Dashboard to learn what these checks cover and how to resolve outstanding items.
Jurisdictions
The Jurisdictions tab shows where your business has triggered nexus, where you're registered, and where registrations are in progress. You can also manage registrations, transfers, and tax portal login credentials from here.
What you can do
Filter jurisdictions: Use the Exposed, Processing, Registered, and All tabs to find jurisdictions by status.
Start or continue a registration: Select Register or Continue on a state.
Manage multiple registrations: Select Manage registrations in the top-right corner.
Enable Autoregister: Turn on Autoregister in the top-right corner to automatically start registrations when you trigger nexus in new states.
Before you register: Youāll need an EIN on file before you can register in any U.S. state. The Register button remains disabled until your EIN is added. If a state requires additional information before registration can proceed, it will show as Requires more info, with a count in the sidebar when items need your attention.
š” Turning on Autoregister doesn't retroactively start registrations for states where you've already crossed nexus ā you'll need to request those manually first. Only states you trigger nexus in afterward start automatically.
Filings
Review and approve current filings, look up historical ones, and export your sales tax data as a CSV. Current moves a return through Payments due, Preparing, Ready for review, Approved to file, and Filed; All is your full history; Backfilings covers anything from before you joined Numeral. If you sell internationally, you can switch a filing's display to its original currency.
š¢ With Autofile on, your regular returns are reviewed and submitted automatically before each deadlineānothing to do unless you want to reject one first.
š” Amendments and backfilings always require your approval, regardless of your Autofile settings. Backfilings left unreviewed for two weeks are canceled rather than filed. If you need more time, additional support, or clarification, let our team know.
Sales
This tab only appears if you upload sales manually instead of (or alongside) a connected store ā if everything comes in through a connection like Shopify or Stripe, you won't see it at all. Use it to upload anything that doesn't flow in automatically.
š“ Manual sales data has to be uploaded by the 5th of the month to be included in that month's filing. Data received after the deadline may be excluded from the filing calculationāsee Uploading Sales Data Manually for details.
Exemptions
Our Exemption Certificate Management (ECM) tool handles exemption certificates for you ā upload your customers and their certificates in bulk. Numeral tracks certificate expiration dates and sends you a digest email as certificates approach expiration. To actually re-request updated certificates from your customers, you'll need to launch a renewal campaign yourself from the Exemptions tab ā this step isn't automatic.

Connections
Add, reconnect, sync, or remove any store or integration linked to your dashboard. All of your sales should flow through Numeral, including marketplace sales like eBay or Amazon ā most states count those toward your nexus even when the marketplace already remits tax on your behalf. If you sell on Shopify, this is also where you manage your collaborator code and which sales channels and products are included.
